Obioma Akaigwe
Dr. Akaigwe brings over ten years of experience in higher education to her role as the assistant director of the Business, Society and Economy program. She has effectively managed relationships with divisions, businesses, vendors, and other stakeholders within the campus community. Her responsibilities encompass a wide range of operations related to campus services, such as managing finances and budgets, ensuring data accuracy, supervising staff and students, and conducting outreach and support activities for student organizations, departments, partners, and visitors. She has developed operational and strategic plans for the division and implemented initiatives to foster business partnerships, boost student involvement, and sustain existing collaborations.
She has earned a Doctorate in Management (DMgt), an MBA, and an MSc. in Public Relations Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC), as well as a BSc. in Business with a specialization in Entrepreneurship from the University of Maryland College Park (UMCP). These qualifications demonstrate her dedication to academic excellence and continuous learning.
When she is not working, Dr. Akaigwe enjoys spending time with family, reading, and nature walks.
