College Park Scholars, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the program's founding, honored the best and the brightest of its most recent Citation class at its most recent Citation and Awards ceremony. This tenacious class, filled with future changemakers and leaders, pushed through a challenging start to college that began during the pandemic to emerge as standouts in the classroom, in their communities, and at the University of Maryland.
Members of the Scholars Citation class of 2024 were honored on October 25, 2024, at the annual College Park Scholars Citation and Awards ceremony. Forty-four total upperclassmen, two from each program, were chosen by their respective program directors for outstanding achievement and outstanding citizenship. These students not only exemplified academic excellence but also were engaged community members impacting College Park and beyond.
Ten additional students were selected to receive some of Scholars’ highest honors: six Founders Circle Awards plus the Meghan Price Scholarship for Leadership and Public Service, the Beth and John Pattison Award for Creativity, the Martha and Ira Berlin Legacy Fund Scholarship, and the Rebecca Basena Kampi Memorial Scholarship.
(Not present at the ceremony: Anna Karan, Public Leadership – Shapiro Excellence in Undergraduate Research Award and Lily Fleischmann, Public Leadership, Meghan Price Scholarship for Leadership and Public Service)
