Assistant Director; Environment, Technology and Economy
Lauren graduated cum laude from UMD where she received a Bachelor's of Science in Architecture and a minor in Sustainable Studies. During her undergraduate experience, Lauren studied at the American University of Rome for a semester where she studied architecture and the environment in European cities. She is an alumna of the ETE program and was an undergraduate teaching assistant for ETE prior to joining the team as a graduate assistant in Fall 2016. She enjoys connecting with students and faculty of diverse careers and interests and collaborating with them on various aspects of sustainable living and design.
Lauren is currently pursuing a dual Master's degree in Architecture and Community Planning with a concentration in Urban Design. In addition to her studies, Lauren works alongside architects at Grimm + Parker Architects designing residential and urban communities for Maryland, Virginia, and DC. She has four years of professional experience concentrated in sustainable building systems and residential architecture. She also works as a freelance designer doing renovations, additions, and interior designs for local businesses and homeowners.
Lauren loves to travel -- either within the US or abroad. In her free time she enjoys hiking, swimming, and kayaking. On weekends she can be found strolling through museums, sketching a prominent building in DC, or cooking a meal with her friends.
