Jeany Cadet joined the Scholars community in September 2012.  As coordinator, she serves as primary advisor to the Student Advisory Board, oversees the Lakeland STARs tutoring program, facilitates the Peer Mentors initiative, and has responsibility for Scholars special events (Awards Ceremony).

Jeany joined Scholars from Boston, where she received a bachelor’s degree in Accounting Information Systems from Bentley University in 2002, and was an accountant for a real estate investment corporation for three years. She then worked at Regis College as a residence director while pursuing a graduate degree at Suffolk University, where she received a master’s degree in higher education administration in 2007. Upon graduating from Suffolk, Jeany worked as an area coordinator at Stonehill College, where she also served as a member of the college’s Alcohol Task Force and founded Radiant Inspirational Sisters Empowered (R.I.S.E.) for the women of color on campus. She is passionate about student development and loves to engage with students and help them to maximize their college experience.
