Graduate Assistant; Global Public Health
Abigail Bickford completed a BA from Goucher College in 2012, double majoring in chemistry and sociology. During her undergraduate studies she worked in an inorganic chemistry laboratory exploring the mechanism of formation of hemozoin, the malaria pigment. Upon graduation she was selected to join Teach For America and was employed in the Baltimore City Public School System teaching middle school science to 7th and 8th graders. During this time she received her teaching certificate and MS in Education Studies from Johns Hopkins University. Currently Abigail is engaged in a doctoral studies program in Behavioral and Community Health at the University of Maryland, College Park where she also serves as a Graduate Assistant and instructor for the Global Public Health Scholars program.
