Information and Subscriptions
College Park Scholars Family Link eNewsletter is a service to all parents and family members of the students and alumni of College Park Scholars. One of our goals at College Park Scholars is to connect with our parent and family populations so as to provide another layer of support during the transition years of their student. Therefore, on a monthly basis during the fall and spring semesters, we publish the Scholars Family Link eNewsletter to keep our Scholars' parents and families informed and connected.
As a resource, we have created an archive of current and previous editions of the eNewsletter. To access this information, please visit our Family Link eNewsletter archive.
On occasion, we will send out special messages to the Link eNewsletter for special event notifications, important deadlines, and responses to major incidents from our central office. Please remember that all messages that are published to our Link eNewsletter have been reviewed by the Scholars Central Office and have been determined to be appropriate.
If you want information on how to unsubscribe, subscribe, or change your email address for the Link eNewsletter, we have directions for altering your Link eNewsletter status below. We encourage all current parent and family members to remain on the list at least until they finish the program and welcome a longer stay if interest remains.

Leaving the eNewsletter
Subscribing to the Link eNewsletter mailing list:
You will need to send an email to the listserv address. Follow the steps below:
- Step 1: Compose a new message
- Step 2: In the address field type: listserv@listserv.umd.edu
- Step 3: Leave subject line blank
- Step 4: Type this message in the body of the email: subscribe cpsparent your name
- Step 5: Send message to listserv
- Step 6: Wait for listserv to send back a verification request.
- Step 7: Reply to the verification request. Follow the directions in the email. Essentially, you delete everything in the body of the reply message and type the letters "ok" without the quotation marks.
- Step 8: Send this reply back to the listserv.
- Step 9: Wait for a confirmation from the listserv that you have been added to the list.
Please note that you must verify your request with a second email (Step 6)!
Changing e-mail addresses for the eNewsletter mailing list:
In order to change your email address, you must first unsubscribe to the list from your old email address and then subscribe from your new email address. Follow instructions above for leaving the listserv and subscribing to the listserv.
Leaving the Link eNewsletter mailing list:
You will need to send an email to the listserv address. Follow the steps below:
- Step 1: Compose a new message
- Step 2: In the address field type: listserv@listserv.umd.edu
- Step 3: Leave subject line blank
- Step 4: Type this message in the body of the email: signoff cpsparent
- Step 5: Send message to listserv
- Step 6: Wait for listserv to send back a verification request.
- Step 7: Reply to the verification request. Follow the directions in the email. Essentially, you delete everything in the body of the reply message and type the letters "ok" without the quotation marks.
- Step 8: Send this reply back to the listserv.
- Step 9: Wait for a confirmation from the listserv that you have been removed from the list.
Please note that you must verify your request with a second email (Step 6)!
