4th Annual CPSAA Golf Tournament
Spring 2009
Join fellow alumni, parents, faculty/staff, and friends of Scholars for a great afternoon of golf, friends, and fun to generate and celebrate support for the College Park Scholars Alumni Association, Inc.
The tournament will feature a two-person, best-ball format where all players will tee off on each hole. The team will select one of the two tee shots and each member of the team will play from that spot. This will continue until a ball reaches the green. At this point, each teammate will begin their putting from the team's chosen landing spot and finish the hole with their individual ball. Teams will record individual and team scores on each hole. Prizes will be awarded for hole-in-one, best team score, best individual score, longest drive, and closest to the pin.
Registration for the event will open in late-2008. The tournament fee will provide participants with greens fees for an 18-hole round of golf, a motorized cart, range balls, bag handling, use of the driving range, prize funds, and a customized tournament gift. The College Park Scholars Alumni Association, Inc. is also providing complimentary beverage and snack service throughout the day (soft drinks and beer). Participants in the tournament must be 21 years of age or older. A portion of the registration cost will be considered a tax-deductible gift to the College Park Scholars Alumni Association, Inc.
Registration and sponsorships will be accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis and is capped. All registration and sponsorship forms, with accompanying payment, should be sent to CPSAA Golf Tournament, ATTN: Golf Tournament, 1125 Cumberland Hall, College Park, MD 20742.
Sponsorship opportunities are available to interested individuals or companies. Sponsors are provided with signage at their tee box, provided by Scholars. All sponsors will be contacted in the design stage of the signage so as to get appropriate information and graphics. All sponsors will also be listed on the tournament website and on the program in each golf cart.
Past tournaments have proved to be a great success, and this will continue in 2009. The alumni association looks forward to this year's tournament as well as continuing to build this great tradition in the future.
